The honest answer from Scripture is this: No, you have not gone too far. There is no sin in your past, no matter how heavy, that places you beyond the reach of the cross. No betrayal, addiction, violence, sexual failure, or years of rejection of God is unforgivable. Jesus did not die for people who had it mostly together. He died for the broken and the guilty.
Some of the people God used most powerfully in the Bible were murderers, adulterers, cowards, and betrayers. Moses killed a man. David committed adultery and had a man murdered to cover it up. Peter denied Jesus three times at his darkest hour. Paul hunted Christians to their deaths. Every one of them was fully forgiven and fully restored.
The only sin that cannot be forgiven is the permanent, final refusal to receive forgiveness. As long as you are still asking, and still wanting to come back, the door is open. It has not been closed on you.
The parable of the prodigal son ends with a father who sees his child “while he was still a long way off” and runs to meet him. That is the picture Jesus gives us of God. He is not waiting to scold you. He is watching for you to come home.
